Honolulu, HI – Sagely, a member of the ‘ike family of companies, is pleased to announce that Alex Bitoun has been appointed President to lead Sagely’s continued growth in Hawaii, the mainland U.S. and beyond. Sagely is a dynamic company within the TeamPraxis family that provides a cloud and app-based solution to enhance communication and care within elder care facilities.
“I’m excited to join the ‘ike family and the great team at Sagely to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing our fast growing senior population,” explains Alex. “Our kupuna have done so much for our community and they deserve our very best. We want to make sure they enjoy their life to its fullest—staying active and vitally connected to their loved ones. We strongly believe our work at Sagely will lead to measurable improvements in quality of life and health for our kupuna.”
Alex has been heavily involved with technology in the health care space—working with health providers, hospitals, insurance groups and health consumers—giving him valuable expertise of the various aspects of health care delivery.
“Alex’s experience in technology, business strategy, and entrepreneurship are key skills that will aid in taking Sagely to the next level,” explains Creighton Arita, ‘ike CEO and President and CEO of TeamPraxis. “He will also play a strategic role in software architecture and product development at TeamPraxis.”
Co-founder of EosHealth, Trilliant Technology Group, and an early member of the upper management team of DiabetesAmerica as CTO, Alex has been on the cutting edge of bringing technology to health care delivery for the past fifteen years.
In 2008, he co-founded EosHealth (rebranded as Livongo Health in 2014) and served as Chief Technology Officer to develop a new platform going beyond traditional disease management, allowing patients living with chronic conditions to aim for better health.
Livongo Health raised 20M Series B funding from the prestigious Klein and Perkins fund, with their last raise valuing the company at $200M in market capitalization.
“Alex has lived on Maui for the last ten years and loves to surf, especially on the North Shore of Oahu,” explains Creighton. “What excites me is his heart for giving back to the community and his desire to spark innovation in our State for the greater good of the people of Hawaii.”
